The Aroma Stress Buster™
is an innovative aromatherapy diffuser designed specifically for use
in the workplace. Based on the concept of aromatherapy, it uses
essential oils (natural plant products) to enhance productivity at
times of stress.
The Aroma Stress Buster
is the creation of Gary Gummer, the Director of the
Aroma Stress Buster™ Gift Factory (owned by CUS Busting
Ltd), a small, family-run business, based in Oxfordshire, UK.

Where the idea for the Aroma Stress Buster came from..
Gary came up with idea of the
Aroma Stress Buster™ when he and his wife, Gillian, a
freelance medical editor, were living in a small house, in which the
bedroom doubled-up as Gillian’s office. As a freelancer, it was not
unusual for her to spend most of the day and well into the night on
the computer. Needless to say, stress levels sometimes ran very
high! Gary had been interested in aromatherapy for some time and,
appreciating the role of some essential oils in stress management,
he started diffusing suitable oils in the bedroom when Gillian was
working. Not only did Gillian find that they helped her through
stressful periods, certain oils, such as grapefruit, also helped
revitalize her for those long periods of work.
As a freelancer, Dr Gillian hale often would visit
clients' offices. Although many of the then currently available
diffusers were suited for use at home, none were ideal for use in
the office. A traditional aromatherapy burner was of course, totally
out of the question, and electric diffusers not only consume
electricity and take up space, they require that most valuable of
office resources – the electric socket!
And then he had an idea…what about using the warmed air generated
by a computer to vaporize essential oils into the atmosphere? The
idea of using the machine responsible for much of the stress of
working life to relieve that very stress was very appealing. Such a
diffuser could be small and slim, and would not require any additional
energy source. It would therefore be ideal for use in
any workplace, be it at the office or at home. The
Aroma Stress Buster™ was born.
